urban planting

one 24 year old’s humble efforts and daydreams to build community gardens in her urban city hometown, Seoul, Korea. with a little farming and gardening experience under her belt from a few months of wwoofing, she decided that growing and eating your own food is all around such a great idea – sustainably, economically, environmentally, socially, culturally, spiritually and politically!

hopes are to encourage the community to get interested in sustainable food growing in the urban landscape through various techniques: rooftop gardening, vertical farming, window farming, raised gardens, veranda farming, guerrilla gardening, etc.

the target gardeners are especially kids. hopefully, gardening can take a load off the stressful pressures they suffer to excel in academics (east asian curse). instead they can find some time to play with dirt and worms!

join in this positive virus of sustainable living. everything is entirely experimental, grassroots and idea-based. more feedback and participation welcomed. thank you

Nice website! I’m trying to garden in my rented apartment (I have a small yard). Do you know anyone who I could pay to deliver and work the soil in a small area of my yard? It would probably be one afternoon of solid work. I live in Hannam-dong.
